Bridgology was contacted by a local consulting office, which is specialized in non-destructive surveys, to further investigate the condition assessment of the upper deck of this multi-story car park in the canton of Wallis.
As the last deck was covered with an asphalt layer, an alternative to the potential field measurements conducted on the other levels was needed. We provided them with the analysis of the GPR measurements of the upper deck and also the full set of our maps. The main findings were the confirmation of the slopes for the water evacuation, some irregularities in the rebar layout with locally very low cover and most importantly: an uncontaminated deck, indicating the proper functioning of the sealing layer.
