This investigation determined the origin of local water ingress detected in the tunnels.
A correspondence between the water ingress and the different rock layers was found. Water-bearing layers cause localised water accumulations which gradually seep through the concrete lining. In one of the tunnels, the drainage of the road above was identified as the cause.
