OFROU - Pont sur la Baye de Clarens

The objective of this study was to map the thickness of the asphalt layer and of the concrete cover of the deck of the Pont sur la Baye de Clarens. This bridge is on the exit of the A9 motorway in direction of Montreux. This study was done in collaboration with bureau Petignat & Cordoba SA for the Swiss Federal Road Office OFROU. This study was a pilot and the results helped to assess its precision in rough conditions +/- 0.2 cm. The deck was of 150m long, the survey was composed of 21 GPR profiles collected in 2 days without interrupting traffic. The mapping required 10 days of data processing.

OFROU - Vallorbe/Essert-Pittet

The objective of this study was to assess the condition of 3 bridges on the national road N09b (asphalt layer, sealing et concrete deck) to prioritise intervention. To do so we mapped the thicknesses of the asphalt layer, the concrete cover, we also mapped the levels of chloride contamination and major desorders of each bridge. This study was held in collaboration with AJS SA for the Swiss Federal Road Office OFROU. The total length of the decks was of 750m long, the survey required 50 GPR profiles collected in 3 nights. The mapping required 4 weeks of data processing.

OFROU - A9 Cornallaz

The objective of this study was to map the concrete cover thickness, to assess the integrity of the sealing, and to check the levels of contamination of the structures. This study was held in collaboration with Pini Swiss Engineers SA for the Swiss Federal Road Office OFROU. The length of the decks was of 140m each, the survey of the 2 decks required 20 GPR profiles collected in 2 nights. The mapping required 10 days of data processing.

2014

Pont de Carouge

The objective of this study was to map the presence ofdefects within the joints and in masonry blocks composing the historical Pont de Carouge, in Geneva. This study was held in collaboration with le bureau B+S Ingénieurs Conseils SA. The total leght of the structure is 70m,the 3 arcs of the bridge required 240 GPR profiles collected within 6 nights. The mapping required 3 weeks of data processing.

This study was held in collaboration with Bureau Géotest AG. The objective was the mapping of chloride contamination of a 150m long bridge deck, the survey 5 hours and 1 week of data processing.

Older cases

Bridge Adolphe

The objective of this study was to map crack layers within two arcs in masonry forming the historical Bridge Adolphe in Luxembourg. This study was held in collaboration with bureau BG SA and with the laboratory MCS at EPFL. The total span of the arcs was of 150m, the survey took 450 GPR profiles collected in 10 days. The mapping required 1 month of data processing.

The objective of this study was to map voids winthin the northen facade of the church Notre‐Dame de Valère in Sion, Switzerland. This study was held in collaboration with GTG. The survey required 200 GPR profiles collected 7 days and 3 weeks of data processing.

Bridge of Rödelbach

This study was held in collaboration with Dr. Johannes Hugenschmidt and Prof. Eugen Brühwiler. The objective was the mapping of chloride contamination of a 20m long conctre bridge deck. The survey required 5 hours of measurement and 1 week of data processing.
